The University of Pune has so far received 100 applications for the high profile post of Vice Chancellor, since the advertisement of the post appeared in Newspapers. The University has appointed a selection committee to scrutinize these applications. Supreme Court justice B.N Shrikrishan is heading this committee.
The selection procedure for VC post will begin from the 20th of Nov. Though there are large numbers of aspirants looking forward for the post of V-C, there are many eligible candidates all over the country eying for the post. Application reached selection committee so far are not only from Maharashtra but also from all the corners of the country said the nodal office and a member of the committee Sanjeev Kashalkar.
The three member committee has, Snajay Dhande, IIT-Kanpur Director and J.S.Saharia, the secretary of Maharshtra Higher Education as its member.
I cannot name specific regions, but applications have come literally from every part of the country. The share of Maharashtra is obviously higher as aspirants from Vidarbha, Marathwada and Konkan besides Pune region have joined the race

This is a comment to the admin. I came to your “100 applicants for the Vice Chancellor’s post at UoP” page via Google but it was hard to find as you were not on the front page of search results. I see you could have more visitors because there are not many comments on your website yet. I have found a website which offers to dramatically increase your rankings and traffic to your website: http://www.linklegends.com/web-traffic. I managed to get close to 1000 visitors/day using their services, you could also get lot more targeted visitors than you have now.
