PUNE: The PCNTDA (Pimpri-Chinchwad New Township Development Authority) has made a huge provision of Rs 140 crore for the construction of Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre at Moshi. The outline of the total budget for this project is Rs 607.18 crore, which shows a surplus of Rs 205.77 crore.
CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Suhas Divse, PCNTDA presented the draft budget to Divisional Commissioner Dilip Band, President, PCNTDA and the PCNTDA committee on Monday. The draft budget has a provision of Rs 401.41 crore for expenses. Finally, the estimated budget was approved after discussions.
The targeted plot for the convention centre to be built on is 240-acres in sector 5 and 8 in Moshi. With PCNTDA’s 94 percent share, a SPV has been created for the project called PIECCL.
Around an amount of Rs 400 crore will be spent on first phase of the construction. Divse said, “In a period of two months, bids will be invited for the exhibition and convention centre”.
The budget has a carry ahead of Rs 342.85 crore starting 2010-11. There are terms of Rs 61.23 crore for revenue expenditure and Rs 340.17 crore for funds expenditure. There is also a provision of Rs 118 crore which has been made for various developmental projects and Rs 22.56 crore for executive expenditure.
The other distributions of budget include PCNTDA’s provision of Rs 6.70 crore for constructing a subway connecting sectors 28 to 29 near Akurdi railway station. There is also a plan of a flyover near Mercedes Benz plant at Chikhli, which is estimated around Rs 25.50 crore. Two more flyovers costing around Rs 5.20 crore and Rs 10.50 crore at Kudalwadi and Kalewadi chowk on Aundh-Ravet road are to be constructed respectively.
For low and middle income groups, PCNTDA has made a provision of Rs 5 crore for constructing affordable houses at Sector 30. The area for this project is around 7.5 acres and PCNTDA plans to build around 450 to 500 houses. “We expect to start the construction of the project after a gap of three months”, Divse added.
“To prevent encroachments, PCNTDA has made a provision of Rs 1.10 crore for fencing around the acquired land,” Divse said. Stipulation has been made for putting up direction boards in the PCNTDA limits.
