Music is not an unbelievable career choice anymore. With their latest venture in the independent music scene Anurag Shanker, Akshay Deodhar, Kenneth Wilson, Arjuna Rajgopal and Pratik Bajaj have decided to make a difference with Meteorik Records.
A self-professed label that promises to showcase outstanding talent, Meteorik Records is getting on board the uprising music revolution that is slowly taking the country by storm. With new acts in every city, the label recognizes that indie bands in the subcontinent go across genres and have quality entertainment to deliver.
Heading to Pune this Wednesday with some interesting music, Anurag Shanker says, “Continuing our efforts to dig out potential acts and artistes and putting their music out to the world, we now bring to you Meteorik Records kicking off with three fresh sounding bands and their 5 song EPs that promise a brand new sonic experiences for the listeners.”
Each of the bands performing tomorrow night writes their own music. Bombay based bands Spook and Slowdown Clown have their vocalists creating lyrics, while Bangalore based Caesar’s Palace write their songs collaboratively.
Spook, a young band from the burbs, brings lyrical talent mixed with a new twist on a band set up with classical violinist, Clavell Santiago, playing lead instead of the run-of-the-mill lead guitar. They will be launching their first EP, Underwaterseabird. With undertones of Bombay City, Slowdown Clown is more a mix of alternative rock and folk, with a smidgen of punk rock. Vocalist Vitek Goyal embraces the town he grew up in and puts it in song in Say Nothing. Caesar’s Palace on the other hand brings this blatant change to everything monotonous in the rock music scene in India with Mindfield. All the musicians in this act have previously performed with hard rock bands and break away to perform a foot tapping, exciting and irresistible blend of soul, funk and blues with a true sense of rock at its core and Narayanan Nambudripad’s fresh honest vocals.
Always bringing the best live music to Pune, the city’s favorite watering hole High Spirits will host the launch on Wednesday. An ardent supporter of the indie music scene, restaurateur Khodu Irani has created a space that musicians across the country and in some parts of the world appreciate, while local musicians and music lovers wait for weekends for a regular dose of quality entertainment.
Starting out in their small way, Meteorik Records has launched an online radio, Meteorik Online where you can listen to some of their artists and decide for yourself. If you’re in the mood for an impressive entertaining night, be at High Spirits tomorrow night before 9!

I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the layout of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two images. Maybe you could space it out better?
