A non-profit organization in Pune called Tedx Pune has given a call to the people having out of the box ideas that deserve a spread on the global scale. The organization needs contemporary ideas in the fields like information and technology, entertainment, social welfare, urban landscapes or designs that will inspire the common man in the society and thereby the all round social development would be achieved.
The ideas suggested by the people will undergo an intellectual scrutiny and the best of them will be broadcast in the 50 renowned educational institutions on October 10.
Mr. Abhishek Suryawanshi, organizer of Tedx Pune was talking to the correspondents on Saturday. He said, “Tedx Pune will take ideas worth sharing from the city to the world. It will bring the city together by using live webcasting at 50-odd educational institutions and spread ideas worth sharing to inspire better cities and citizenship.”
Excellent ideas always bloom in contemplative and creative minds. Ideas like ‘Giving Gandhigiri a much needed rebirth’, ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’, ‘Change Pune- Change India’, ‘Rehabilitation and Development of the Slums in the City’, ‘Mahatma Gandhi Conflict-free City’, ‘Area Sabhas’ have already secured their place in the list of excellent ideas.
Shortlisted ideas that are capable of bringing about a positive change in the society will be nominated and later voted on the website of Tedx. Shortlisted speakers will get an opportunity to put their views in a pre-Tedx event. The most influential ideas will be selected and presented before the live audience at the Tedx Pune Event.
The parent organization Ted is a nonprofit organization devoted to the spread of ideas having a spark. It all started in a four-day conference organized in California around 25 years ago. Since then the organization has contributed a lot in spreading the world changing ideas with multiple initiatives. Ted organizes an annual conference in which eminent thinkers and doers having a global appeal are invited to share their views and opinions with the audience. Dedicated individuals obsessed with the wish to change the world are felicitated in the annual Ted Awards Ceremony.
Mr. Suryawanshi said, “For instance, a citizen has been nominated for his idea of providing urban amenities in rural areas (PURA). According to his idea, ring roads can be developed to connect a loop of villages that can facilitate rural prosperity. The citizen has said that for the overall sustainable development of the nation we need approximately 7,000PURA complexes, each unit having a maximum of one lakh people consisting of 20-100 villages.”
The citizen who came up with this practical and feasible idea justified that the model has never been put into practice so far. He also stressed that the model should be used religiously as it would boost the rural economy of the country.
