Another sewage plant of treatment of 40 MLD is going to be constructed at Kasarwadi to treat sewage from the areas such as Bhosari, Dapodi, Dighi and Phugewadi. The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation will construct the plant along the Pavana River at Kasarwadi. Rs.32 crore is pegged for this plant.

According to Vasant Salvi, Executive Engineer there are two STP plants with capacity of 40 MLD sewage for each that are constructed in 1998 and in 2002. The third plant will begin in March and expected to be completed by December 2009.

According to him, at  present now 80% of work has been completed. The previous two STPs also treat the sewage coming from the same areas and pipelines connecting these lines. He further added that they are looking for connecting the main pipeline to the third STP.

The third sewage treatment plant will mostly treat the sewage coming from newly developing and developed areas of Kasarwadi and Dapodi. The pipeline under this treatment plant is of 12mm in diameter and one kilometer in length and will take approx six months to be laid.

This STP plant will be constructed at the plot reservation no 3 at Kasarwadi. The construction of main pipeline requires about Rs 1.31 crore.
