The state government has passed a resolution on the Maharashtra Prevention of Destructive Activities (MPDA) act on Wednesday. It has given anti-piracy movement a shot in the arm. Now, police will have the right to detain the offenders for their involvement in audio or video piracy for up to an year.
Ajay Sarpotdar, the president of the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal (ABMCM) welcomed this new change and said that it will help them to eradicate the menace of piracy of Marathi films.
He further added that the piracy of Marathi films was out of control for last two years. There are around 114 Marathi films made every year. Because of piracy, the industry loses around Rs 2 crore for each film. People get CDs and DVDs of Marathi movies very easily.The industry loses around Rs 100 crore each year.
Nowadays, piracy is out of control in the cities such as Pune, Nashik, Mumbai and several parts of western Maharashtra. According to Sanjay Chhabria, producer of Mi Shavaji Raje Bhosle Boltoy, a super-hit of 2009, the film suffered a loss of Rs 50 lakh because of piracy. His other film ‘De Dakkha’, also faced a loss due to piracy.
A Pune based writer and copywriter of both Marathi and Hindi films, Kantilal Oswal said that the losses due to piracy are ten times more than the official sales figures.

I believe what you posted was very logical. However, what about this? what if you typed a catchier post title? I am not saying your information isn’t solid, however suppose you added something to possibly grab people’s attention? I mean Urge for anti-piracy by Marathi Film Industry is kinda vanilla. You should peek at Yahoo’s front page and note how they create post titles to grab viewers to click. I upgraded my Windows Vista to Windows 7 and hooked up my USB HP Deskjet D4160 printer.* Then, I got HP’s current software installation* package and reinstalled it.* Control Panel/Printers showed a D4160 icon and I made it the default.* I tried printing from Word, and nothing happened.* I called Hewlett-Packard’s chatline and was told that their current software doesn’t support Windows 7.* They thought that eventually they’d be putting out a modification which would work.* This printer is pretty old and maybe it’s time to upgrade to another* one anyway.* Does anyone know of a homeoffice deskjet printer which* does run on Windows 7?
