Appu Ghar in Pune

Appu Ghar in Pune and fun are synonymous. Based on the idea of an amusement park in Delhi with the same name, Appu Ghar is called a mini Dizney Land in Pune. If you set out on a Pune trip along with your kids, trust me, Appu Ghar is something you are going to enjoy thoroughly. Your kids will love the park. And why only kids? Even your mind will start lingering in the lanes of your childhood and you will enjoy the amusement in the park.

The Name Appu Ghar:
The amusement park Appu Ghar has been named after the mascot called Appu, an elephant. ‘Ghar’ is the Hindi equivalent for English ‘house’. Thus Appu Ghar means Appu’s House. Actually Appu was the name given to a live elephant in the 1982 Asian Games hosted in New Delhi, the capital of India. The elephant had become extremely popular all across the world during those days and children especially loved the elephant. This is the reason why it was apt to name an amusement park after the mascot.

Where does it lie?
Appu Ghar in Pune lies in the Pradhikaran Sector on the Indira Gandhi Udyan in Nigdi.

Major Attractions:

1) Rides:
Various types of rides for children as well as for the elders are the main attraction of the place. Appu Ghar is replete with games galore that pull the people to the park. Away from the common din of city life, you can spend some moments of sheer fun here.

You find such rides in any big amusement park. There is nothing uncommon here. But when the park is full with people from various places in the country and outside as well, the creation of atmosphere takes you into an altogether different world. And you certainly don’t want to get back to your everyday world full of mundane hurries and worries.

2) Merry-go-rounds and spinners:
Variety of merry-go-rounds, gigantic roller coasters and huge spinners are ready here to turn you round and round. The colors of these rides are beautiful and attractive. You can sing in tune with the wind by sitting in the swings and giant wheels. Not only the kids but the grown-ups too enjoy the rides and cherish the moments.

3) Artificial Hill and Lake:
The artificial hill prepared specially for the kids to play and explore is yet another fun. It helps parents instill among their children interest for athleticism and make them agile. A beautiful lake is yet another attraction for the young and the old. Small castles and dunes built here give the kids a call to play.

This is indeed a safe and sound place to spend a day in the company of your family members. Many more attractions are going to be added to the park and no doubt it will be fun to play here all day.

Snacks and Toys
Those who want to please their palate have got a few options outside the park. You find some snacks stalls providing variety of dishes. Street vendors selling balloons and toys sit outside as well.

Thanks for the advice on credit repair on your web-site. The thing I would advice people is always to give up the actual mentality that they can buy currently and shell out later. As a society we all tend to do that for many things. This includes getaways, furniture, and also items we wish. However, you need to separate your wants from the needs. If you are working to fix your credit score actually you need some trade-offs. For example you may shop online to save cash or you can turn to second hand stores instead of costly department stores with regard to clothing. Tell A Friend And Travel Cheaper

Appu Ghar is not a great place but it is a good place for kids to play. There are some rides for kids fun. I think if you are too young to play the rides & if you have any kid at your place, you can visit & enjoy a trip to Appu Ghat.
As per Indian norms it is OK for one day trip than to go long. Visit once ………

I definitely think its way on its closure. I have visited it before, its not as great as to be a real amusement park but for small kids its something better than nothing. So whenever we have kids around there is a trip to Appu Ghar. Before there was a nominal entry fee and pay per ride whichever the kid feels interesting and which was OK. The maintenance was OK at least the grass was cut even, 3-4 stalls for eatery and above all rides were OK.

I visited recently on saturday evening and was expecting a rush as before. There was a rush at the ticket counter but to my surprise not inside Appu Ghar. The ticket counter had a queue just because the fee structure is changed and charged heavily as compared to quality of appu ghar. Then there are different criteria’s of tickets which the counter person has to explain and it takes a little time. People think over it and buy tickets accordingly. One person takes around 3-5 minutes to buy tickets, such a shame, no proper instructions and in the end the cost is too much.

I don’t understand for grownups there are hardly any rides, may be couple of them and then they are charging 120 Rs per person. just for entry its 50 bucks and under 4 ft and above 2 ft its 80 rs. For 2 feeters there are again couple of rides. With all this all rides are free except one with the dhadak gadi, I guess it uses more electricity. The maintenance has dropped down. Grass is grown up everywhere and you fear for snakes. As somebody wrote the workers are as if govt employees who do not want to do any work.

Overall, it looks like end of road for appu ghar. The management team is trying hard for people not to visit appu ghar anymore, shut it down, and sell the land to big builder and in the process make money at once.
