The Asian Institute of Management (AIM), Asia’s top business schools, is all set to arrive in the city. The AIM has announced its presence in the city by joining hands with the city based Edavance Learning institution to launch a one year international executive diploma in business management. The diploma course will commence in the month of Feb, 2010.
The AIM, presently based in Manila, was established with the help of Harward Business School and Ford Foundation and is a well known business school in Asia. It has been ranked among the top 100 B-Schools across the globe.
While speaking to the Media, the associate dean of the AIM, Grace S Ugut, said that the aim behind launching this course is to transform today’s young minds into the business leaders and managers for the organization. This course is only for those aspirants who are sponsored by their respective organizations. Arun Arora Chairman of Edvance Learning and CEO Ajay Mehra were also present at the press conference.
Ugut said,
The EDBM is part a of our flagship one-year courses and will be delivered entirely by our own faculty, which will be flown in from Manila. The programme, featuring four training modules of varied durations, is to be completed in 16 weeks of classroom work
Edvance has provided all the facilities including logistics support, infrastructure and learning facilities. It has built a three storeyed campus at Shivaji housing society off Senapati Bapat Road
The basic qualification for the Corporate professionals will be six years of work experiencing-including three years at the managerial level. After that, an entrance test as well as interview will be conducted by the AIM.
Ugut said,
The executive diploma would enable companies nurture and retain young talent as agents of change to further the cause of company expansion.
She added,
The business landscape in India has been changing at a rapid pace over the last one decade and the Indian economy is poised to grow further. What is important for us is to go beyond the development of physical infrastructure and focus on investing in the next generation talent. That can be achieved only through education and this is the reason we are here.
