As the rise in the cost of bakery products continues to rise, people do not seem to stop purchasing bread and wheat products from several bakeries throughout Pune.
“My aunt lives in Pune and the moment her shop is set with the stock gets over immediately. It’s an ordinary looking Parsi Bakery selling cakes and biscuit cookies. She parcels chocolate walnut cakes and coffee cookies also. It seems to me as though the puneites know when the fresh stock of bread is laid out, and so during those hours they all flock around the shop making it more crowded than a Virar fast train,” said Aarti from Mumbai.
Amongst most of the popular bakeries in Pune, Kayani Bakery located in the Pune Camp Cantonment area seems to be very popular amongst bread lovers. This shop located on the 6 East Camp Street is open from 7am to 9pm and sells all sorts of cakes, biscuits, cookies, namkeen and snacks. Its other delicacies include choco walnut wafers, mawa cakes, coffee sweets and wine and shrewsberry biscuit.
Most people visiting Pune city look forward to visit this bakery to buy products to take back home with them. They are often found looking for directions to this bakery. If one is a bread lover, one could always pick up the best quality loaf from here. Amazing!
Nazmuddin Kapas, Pune says, “This bakery has been in Pune since many years and is very popular. It always serves fresh oven bread.”
The prices of bakery products in Pune are not very high. The costs are moderate and Kayani bakery offers best rates on the cakes and cookies.
Pune is filled with bakeries, some of the famous ones being, Fiesta confectioners, Aaswad Bakery, German Bakery, French loaf and many others that offer buyers a variety in confectionery. Many of these bakeries serve their bread with cheese and spices adding greater taste to their products.
These bakeries did face problems in cost effectiveness and sales after November due to the rise in price of raw materials. A revised list of product rates was distributed by the public. This still has not reduced the buyers of bakery products. The taste still pulls one and all to the famous bakeries of Pune.
Many of India’s best bakeries are present in Pune. We have brilliant bread products to offer, maybe it’s time the French paid us a visit.
