Following attacks on techies in the city, the Pune Crime Branch have issued guidelines for women employees working in the BPO, IT and other sectors in the city.

The city crime branch officials said that the city police have listed precautionary measures to be taken by women employees while traveling or working in the company. They said that women working in call centers must follow those measures and must not travel alone in the company vehicles. The company should take certain precaution that a person from outside does not travel in the company vehicle.

As per the measures listed in the notice issued to all companies in the city, the women should ascertain that those traveling with them are familiar persons and the driver of the cab is employed by the company.

Women should store numbers of police control room and other important numbers in their mobile. If they suspect something fishy while traveling, they should immediately type HELP and the number of the vehicle and message it to those numbers. They should also keep a pepper spray with them

Before they set off for work or home, they should call their relatives and inform them about the details of the cab number, registration number and the time they leave office and the time they will reach home. Women should not sit beside the driver or talk to him. But they should keep the mobile number and the name of the driver stored in their mobile. Women employees should avoid disclosing their personal information to their co-travelers.

these measures, if taken properly, will help in lowering the crime rates in the city and will also help save the lives of many women workers.
