Along with the 21 districts in Maharashtra, Pune is among them to have received deficient rainfall since the beginning of the monsoon this year.Till last year Pune was getting rainfall about 786mm every year, instead it got only 513.4mm this year, about 35 % than the normal rainfall.
As per the data given by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) , Pune here on Monday for the period June 1 to August26, almost all the meteorological regions have a large number of districts with bizarre rainfall this year.
Megha Khole, the Director of the Meteorological Department of Pune have expressed concerns over the bizarre condition of the rainfall in the city and in the Maharashtra.
It is really dangerous to tackle with such condition in the city as it has happened for the first time in the last 30 years
said Mrs. Ghole.
