Celebrating 20 years of Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti (MANS), the “Warasa Samajsudharakancha-Andhashraddha Nirmulanacha, Vivekacha’, will be held in Pune from January 14 to 16. Activists of MANS have prepared an educational declaration that would be presented at the state-level conference. The conference will be inaugurated in the presence of president MANS N D Patil, senior journalist Kumar Ketkar, social activist Medha Patkar and Dr Jabbar Patel, while Sakal Chief Editor Uttam Kamble, Home Minister R R Patil and Social Justice Minister Shivajirao Moghe will attend the valedictory function. During the three-day conference issues like secularism, experiences of activists and mental health, future of anti-superstitions movement in Maharashtra are scheduled to be discussed.
Other participants in the conference include Mohan Dharia, activists Baba Adhav, Pushpa Bhave, Dr Narendra Dabholkar, Dr Anil Awachat, Subhash Ware, Govind Pansare and actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar.
