Continuous rains from last few days have resulted into increasing the dam capacity up to 50 % of its level. On Thursday, all four dams of Pune rose above the half way mark (51.76%). The dam is now have 14.35 TMC water storage, which is sufficient to fulfill the annual requirement of drinking water for Pune city.
The irrigation department has started to discharge water from the Khadakwasla dam as the area is receiving maximum rain. The water was discharged on Thursday at the rate of 6,540 cu secs on third successive day.
Water in the dams increased within last 24 hours by 1.2 TMC. The water level at Panshet is 5.33 TMC (50.04%), at Temghar 1.64 TMC (71.96%), at Khadakwasla it is 1.87 TMC (95%) and at Varasgaon, it is 5.51 TMC (42.99%).
The irrigation department releases 15 TMC of water for city as it needs 12 TMC water annually. According to Shivaji Bolbhat, Executive engineer of Khadakwasla irrigation department, with the current rate of rainfall the dams are expected to reach up to 15 TMC mark in the upcoming days.
He further added that the discharge of water into Mutha river from Khadkwasla dam was reduced up to 6,540 cusecs on Thursday. Along with this, the water is also being discharged from Mutha river from right canal with the current rate of 1,104 cusecs.
Both the dams Gunjavani and Vir have reached their water level up to 100% on Thursday. The Vir dam is having capacity of 9.41 TMC and Temghar of 0.69 TMC.

I think what you posted was actually very logical. But, consider this, what if you composed a catchier post title? I am not suggesting your information is not good., but suppose you added something that makes people want more? I mean Dams Fill half the capacity is a little plain. You could look at Yahoo’s front page and note how they create article titles to get viewers to click. You might add a related video or a picture or two to get readers excited about everything’ve written. Just my opinion, it would make your blog a little bit more interesting.

I do not write a lot of responses, but i did some searching and wound up here Dams Fill half the capacity. And I do have a few questions for you if it’s allright. Could it be just me or does it look like a few of these remarks look as if they are left by brain dead visitors?

This is much needed. When I was in college they had what was called, The Flats down along the river and that was filled with bars & restaurants. Since that left, there has been no river or lakefront usage. I hope this project is a success!
