An Ayurveda doctor has been admitted at the Sassoon general hospital from Yerawada on Friday morning. He was tested positive for swine flu. According to doctor, his condition had become critical at the yesterday evening.
Meanwhile, another case of the chemist (35) from Hadapsar who was admitted on Thursday night at Sassoon hospital is in critical condition. Dr Pandurang Pawar, medical superintendent said that now he is showing some improvement. Both the patients are now on ventilator and the critical patients are being sent to at Sassoon hospital to isolation(ICU) ward.
According to doctor’s brother, doctor went to Naidu hospital to take a throat swabs but the authorities of the hospital did not take his throat swab. After that he went to the private hospital at Koregaon Park. The hospital has sent his throat swab for testing to the NIV when he started complaints of breathlessness. The report showed the positive test of swine flu.
The state minister Rajendra Shingane has given visit to the isolation ICU at the Sassoon hospital to check the facilities at the hospital. The hospital does have all 15 bed capacity to treat the patients with critical condition. There are only two ventilators and the demand has been done to get more from the concerned authority. Also there are enough Tamiflu tablets but asked for 5,000 more.
