Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is organizing “Seventh High Energy Materials Conference and Exhibit (HEMCE-2009)” at High Energy Material and Research Laboratory (HEMRL) from December 8 to 10 in the city.
Taking global trends into consideration, the conference will focus on advanced propellant systems, eco friendly pyrotechnics, nano materials, insensitive munitions, and novel high-energy dense materials, said a spokesperson, who is also a research associate at DRDO.
The reason behind organizing this conference is to safeguard high energy materials of India. This conference will also witness experts in the field who will come up with plausible solution that will help to solve the prevalent security related problems in the country. The conference will be inaugurated by Padma awardee V.K.Saraswat, scientific adviser to Rakesh Mishra and secretary department of defense, R&D and D G, DRDO.
“The conference will be attended by about 450 delegates including eminent scientists and technologists from various institutions like the ISRO, DGOF, CSIR, BARC, in addition to the DRDO,” said Dr. S. Sivram, Director, NCL, Pune
The other dignitaries who are supposed to attend the conference are from the country as well as abroad.
Pune will be the Guest of Honour. People coming for this conference are from countries like US, UK, Russia, France, Israel, China and Malaysia. About 250 technical papers on contemporary topics will be presented in oral and poster sessions at HEMRL
