It is not everyday that one gets to participate or witness a film festival aimed at creating awareness on environment conservation. It is indeed a privilege for residents of Pune who will enjoy the four-day LIFE Environmental Festival from June 2 that will be inaugurated by ecologist Madhav Gadgil at Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium. The inaugural program will conclude with a slide show by wildlife photographer Baiju Patil from Aurangabad.

Lively Introduction to Forests and Environment (LIFE) is an initiative that primarily focuses on Indian wildlife and its rich biodiversity. The four-day environmental film festival is aimed at creating awareness, spreading knowledge and providing information on the natural heritage of India. The event is a joint venture of ‘Nature Walk’ and ‘Aapla Parisar’.
“The USP of the event will be a photography exhibition titled ‘Wild India’, by renowned wildlife photographers from across India. Films that will be screened in the event are directed by noted wildlife conservationists Bedi brothers, Mike Pandey, Umesh Agarwal and Shekar Dattatri. Furthermore, an open forum will be organized, wherein filmmakers, government authorities, and representatives of different professions will share their views and ideas on different issues related to environment,’ said Poorva Keskar, an organizer, while addressing the media.
Noted conservation biologist Pooja Bhale will speak on illegal wildlife trade and talk on the topic ‘Water as our precious resource and its protection and conservation’ on June 3, and an exhibition of books will also be held on the same day. Participants can also enjoy ‘Tree Walk’ with S D Mahajan and heritage walk with historian Ninad Bedekar. The festival will draw curtains on June 5 with the screening of Naresh Bedi’s film ‘Saving the tigers’. Furthermore, a conservation website www.projectbustard.org will also be launched by state Forest Minister Patangrao Kadam during the concluding ceremony.
CMSVatavaran, Delhi; BNHS, Public Service Broadcasting Trust, GIB Foundation, Government of Maharashtra’s forest department and the Pune Municipal Corporation have decided to lend support to the event.
The entry for the event will be free. Entry passes will be available at Nature Walk Outdoors, Law College Road; Aapal Parisar, Karvenagar; Seed Infotech Branches, Kothrud and Popular Book House, Deccan Gymkhana.
“It is wonderful that film festivals on varied subjects are being conducted in Pune. It reflects the positive intent and progressive mindset of the city’s youth. I sincerely hope that everyone supports the initiative and makes it a great success,” says Sunny Rathod, a student in Pune.

I am exploring the Internet as I never have before. I have more time since I reitred. I can see that there is a rich diversity in the blogs I am reading and I am trying to leave some comment whereever I visit. I think that you have to put some attention on a blog to bring it above the dry and boring verbage that is common, and you have definitely accomplished that. I am the proud owner of my own website and blog and i get ideas from blogs such as yours. Thank-you. There was a place to include an email and address, so I have done that. It seems to be customary to include these so I hope that its ok with you. TheVeryBest2You 13 9

If I might –perhaps you ought to take into account adding a couple of images. I dont mean to disrespect what youve said; its extremely enlightening, indeed. Nonetheless, I believe would respond to it a lot more positively if they might be something tangible to your suggestions. Keep it up, but put a little a lot more into it next time.

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?
