India reported its first case of death due to H1N1 flu infection and that’s from Pune with a 14 year old girl.
However, the first death due to H1N1 flu was reported in South Africa on Monday.
The 14 year old girl was studying in IX class at St Annes’ High School who first showed symptoms such as sore throat, headache and running nose of H1N1 infection on July 21.
Her admission in the private hospital instead of stipulated government isolation hospital and delay in critical H1N1 test are the reason behind her death. According to health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, if she had been ran for treatment at the beginning, there were enough chances to save her life.
The head of Pune’s joint co-ordination committee for containment of H1N1, M S Devnikar told to the reporters, that they were in the dark till today that the patients were admitted to private hospital, when there are no treatment facilities available with them right now.

Dear All,
Is suggested instead of advertising a Hospital Name only for H1N1 treatment,
If the Road Map also can be put on hordings will be a great help.
As many of the people in Pune are new
This will definatley will help to locate the right place for treatment.
Thanks
