MNS legislator Ramesh Wanjale was in for a major embarrassment when he was caught wearing his trademark 2 kg gold chains in Mantralaya on Tuesday afternoon.
Wanzale had promised the party supreme Raj Tahackery that he won’t be wearing any gold assets after the swearing-in ceremony, but the staunch supporter has failed to keep the promise. Raj had allowed him to wear it only on special occasions such as weddings, birthday parties and family functions.
On Tuesday he was spotted wearing the gold ornaments while coming out of irrigation minister’s (Ajit Pawar) cabin. After he realized that the channels were following him, he succeeded to make a hasty exit. He literally started running across the corridor with paparazzi chasing him. Wanzale was compelled to stop and explain. He said that he wore the gold because of the supporters’ request.
Also, I have invitations to several weddings across Maharashtra today. I have to rush to some of them immediately
he said making clear that Raj has allowed him to wear gold on wedding functions.
The golden man had gone to Mantralya to visit Ajit Pawar to discuss the water crisis in his constituency, but was caught wearing gold by scribes here in Mantralaya
