Pune has recorded 17.2mm of rain on Tuesday that gave some relief to city folks from the heat created in past some days.
According to Medha Khole, weather forecasting director of India Meteorological Department (IMD), it was the result of heavy clouds developed over Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. She also added that there should be a cyclonic circulation over the parts of Andra Pradesh.
The clouds are moving towards north, that there should be possibility of increase in rainfall in Maharashtra.
According to irrigation departmental officials, the areas of dams also recorded showers on Tuesday. The Khadakwasla dam recorded 1mm rainfall, while Temghar recorded 10mm rainfall.
