April 24th will be a day to remember for every Puneiite. Ecstatic cricket fans in Pune gathered around for the official announcement of the name of Pune’ s newborn IPL team. The fact that it was ‘The Little Master’ – Sachin Tendulkar’s birthday on the same day was an added treat.
It is here and it is official – Sahara Pune Warriors!
The evening of the 24th of April 2010, saw a wave of cricketing energy in Pune after what feels like a long time. Cricket lovers went around the city with the flags of the newly named child of Sahara’s latest addition to its cricketing venture and now Pune’s very own IPL team. The name ‘Warriors’ aptly fits with the city’s history. The team’s logo, also is an interesting aspect here. It consists of a Maratha Warrior on a stallion in full gallop. The patriotic logo symbolizes Pune city’s love and respect for The Great Shivaji Maharaj.
The Sahara Pune Warriors will be entering IPL 4 in 2011 along with another new entrant, the Kochi team. Sahara bought ownership to the Pune team in last month’s IPL bidding war for a whopping USD 370 million (1,700 crore INR). The Kochi team was bought by Rendezvous Sports World for USD 333.33 million.
Sahara is well known for its widespread support to the Indian cricket team in the past decade. The chairman of the Sahara Group, Subrata Roy was thrilled to own the IPL team belonging to his second home. The home ground for the team will be the Maharashtrian Cricket Association’s cricket stadium located 25kms from the city.
With the IPL Player Auction coming later on in the year and the buzz about retaining up to eight players with the current teams, Sahara is faced with a tough task ahead of scoring quality players and a suitable captain for our team.

I believe everything posted made a ton of sense. However, consider this, suppose you added a little content? I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your website, however suppose you added something that makes people want more? I mean Here come the Warriors! is kinda vanilla. You could glance at Yahoo’s home page and watch how they write article headlines to get people to open the links. You might add a video or a related picture or two to get people excited about what you’ve got to say. Just my opinion, it might bring your posts a little livelier.

First off I want to say superb blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing. I have had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
