Located in the heart of one of the most popular hotspots in Pune, Aurora Towers can be found on the corner of Mahatma Gandhi Road and Moledina Road. Although it does not immediately strike you, Aurora Towers is a four star hotel.
If you’re booking your stay online, the hotel’s website is very user friendly and detailed. Ask for a complimentary Airport pick up/ drop. The rooms are spacious and cool. Centrally air-conditioned, you get an individual remote control to man the room to your preferred temperature. Accommodation comes with complimentary buffet breakfast. A lot of users have rated this hotel as average and it comes recommended for tourists and business people who want to be accessible to a major chunk of resources in town, but don’t have much time to travel.
The rooms in the hotel come at different levels. Their Apartment rooms are like Studio apartments, equipped with a microwave, cooking, refrigerator and a sectional parting that gives you privacy and makes it feel like home. Their Standard rooms have a feel of old-world hospitality. Sized at 250sq. ft., the rooms come across as unobtrusive while giving you a sense of quiet comfort. Their Deluxe rooms have wooden floors and come equipped with an indoor Jacuzzi. Next up are their culturally themed rooms, which change themes over a period of time. Their Grand Rooms are wrapped in Dark wood and tones of beige, are larger in space and amenities and also have Jacuzzis in the bath area.
A plus point about Aurora Towers is that it is located not far from the restaurants in the area. If you’re not having a late night, explore the vicinity. It is located across the road from ‘George’, a restaurant that serves up tasty chicken rotisserie along with tandoori chicken. The Fernery within the hotel is a well known after hours coffee shop which serves up ‘kheema-pav’ that club goers swear by past midnight when options are limited across the city. The hotel has a seventh floor, where their terrace swimming pool is located.
Overall, this hotel is average on par with other five star hotels in the city. Insist on your complimentary airport drop/ pickup and on giving your room a once over before checking in.
