Though I have not succeeded in fulfilling my dream completely for the Pune University, I have nevertheless made the University appear in the list of 100 standard universities in the world. Before I took over the Vice Chancellor ship, UoP was ranked at 457 in the global ranking

said Dr Jadhav, member of Planning Commission and former VC of the Pune University. He was speaking at the program ‘Meet the stalwart’ organized by Janseva foundation, where he was interviewed by Arun Nulkar.

The chief guest of the program was Dr. Mohan Dharia, President of Vanrai, other dignitaries present on the dice were Dr. Sharadchandra Gokhale, Dr. Gururaj Mutalik, Hirabhai Chokhawala, Vasundhara Jadhav.

While explaining his work and duties in the planning commission, Dr. Jadhav said,

I am fortunate to get this opportunity which is enabling me to work for the entire country. Currently, I am working for four states- Bihar, Tamilnadu, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Div Daman where I am looking after education, labor, employment, and social justice departments. I am going to implement many innovative ideas in those states that would help to bring ignored and downtrodden population into the mainstream. This is my motto.

When Nulkar asked him about the introduction of the new members in sub-committees which work under Dr Jadhav

I expected this question as many complained about the selection of new members in the committee, but if you look at the figures, they will definitely surprise you as I took 42 Marathi people in the committee where total no is 120 only

said he.

Dr. Dharia praised Dr. Jadhav by saying,

we are really happy that person like Jadhav has made it to planning commission, in spite of the agonies and sufferings he has gone through
