The Charlie Chaplin of Indian cinema – Raj Kapoor is all set to revisit his fans and encourage the new generation, after he was seen in his last film called Vakil Babu in 1982 almost 28 years ago. He is ready to enthrall the new generation in Loni in Rajbaug; a place just 10 kms away from Pune has got a legendary museum dedicated to himself. This will be the only museum of Raj Kapoor in the country.
Kappor had been appreciated by both critics and film fans as he often remained cheerful and honest despite his adversities. He did not remain famous in India alone, but his fans spread all over the world in countries like South Africa, Russia, China, Middle East and South East Asia.
half of His movies depicted the newly independent India and encouraged the young generation to go patriotic and worship the nation through his movies like Jis Desh Main Ganga Bahati hai(In the Country Where the Ganges Flows), Shree 420, Aag and many other films for which he become known all over the Globe.
The portrayals and the scenes he played in his movies are taking shape which will remind us of the Raj era and would compel us to go back to watch his movies over again. The Museum is being constructed by the Directors of Indian Traditional Culture Center, Sanjay Chattereji, Sanjay Sing and Prashant Valukar. This trio has worked in various film studio houses and production companies such as Ramoji Film City, Studios in Chennai and Hyderabad. One of the directors of ITCC, Sing said that there are around 100 people working for this construction and it will be finished soon.
To pay the tribute to all the legendary stars from Indian Cinema, the museum will host the statues of Amitabh Bacchan, Rajendra Kumar, Vaijanti Mala, Nargis, and Shammi Kapoor.
Various scenes from films like Awara, Jis Desh Main Ganag Bahti hai, and Meara nam Joker will be displayed in the museum. Besides this, there will be pagodas around Raj Kapoor’s bungalow.
The executive director of Maharastra Institute Of technology, Rahul Karad said that the will made by Raj kapoor states that the land should be used for educational purposes.
The land measures 30 acres, of which five are being used for the memorial,
Karad added.
