The International Marathi literary meet has been scheduled in the first week of March next year in Dubai. This literary meet will be followed by the 83rd Akhil Bharatiya Mararathi Sahitya Samelan which will be held in Pune on March 26, informed Kautikrao Thale Patil, president of the Maharashtra Sahitya Mahamandal.
He was speaking at a press conference in the city on Sunday. This conference was also attended by the officials of the Maharshtra Sahitya Mahamandal and members of the city based Punyabhushan foundation.
Normally, we have a three-day-long meet. But this time, the Pune meet will be for three and half days. The event will be inaugurated on March 26, but a grantha dindi will be taken out in the evening of March 25
said Thale Patil.
He further informed that publishers, who are going to be there at the Sahitay Samelan, are demanding more time for their book exhibition. Their demand for extension of time has been considered.
While the president of international meet was elected unopposed, there are elections for the president-ship of National literary meet. Thale Patil also said that there is no other way to elect the president, except election.
When asked about the location where the national meet will be organized in Pune, chief guests and estimated expenditure, Subhash Desai, chief co-organiser, declined to reveal any details of the National meet.
These things are not finalized yet
he said.
Following is the entry fee structure for the National Marathi meet.
Rs.1000 (for outstation only) and Rs.300 for the locals.
