The Film and Television Institute of India will host an International Students’ Film Festival from September 24 to 28 2010 as a part of Golden Jubilee celebrations. Movie buffs will be exposed to some of the best stories told on celluloid by young creative minds from across the globe. Renowned film-maker Govind Nihalani will inaugurate the film festival followed by screening of five exceptional FTII student films.
The films to be screened are Deccan Queen directed by K S Raju, Jugni by Dipti Gogna, Turbulence by Gulam Shaffi Khan, and The Solitary Sandpiper directed by Ajita Suchitraveera.
The festival will screen more than 50 films from different film institutions in India and abroad. One student with his or her film will be representing each participating school in the festival. Twenty five film institutes have already nodded in affirmation to support FTII’s initiative. Some of the film schools that will showcase their movies are Beijing Film Academy, China, Royal College of Art, London, Chapman School of Film and Video, New York University, HF University of Film and Television, Munich, SRFTI, Kolkata, L V Prasad Film Academy, Chennai, and many more. Apart from screening of movies, audience can also interact with the filmmakers in an open forum.
The award in each three categories – Fiction, non-Fiction and Animation comprises US $1,000 and a Canon HD camera. Reinhard Hanff (Germany), Bina Paul, Ranjan Palit and Gitanjali Rao are the juries for the event. Films will be screened in the Main Theatre and Preview Theatre, FTII as well the National Film Archive of India. There’s no registration or any kind of entry free.
The film festival basically aims to further strengthen the relationship between different film schools across the world and help in greater advancement and reach of cinema as a medium of expression among the masses.

I believe everything said made a bunch of sense. But, what about this? what if you were to create a awesome title? I mean International Students’ Film Festival Kick Starts from Today is a little boring. You might glance at Yahoo’s home page and watch how they write news titles to get viewers to click.
