It’s Christmas time in Pune
Christmas is here, and it is that time of the year when Pune gets together to celebrate, at midnight masses, the birth of Son of God, Jesus Christ. The festive spirit of the season has gripped Puneites, and Christmas trees, which are the quintessential boughs of Holly and are the recreation of the nativity scene, with its manger and the crib can be seen in churches, Christian homes, cathedrals and chapels. Friday will see people join the prayers and sing in the praise of the Lord.
On December 24, 2010, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Tadiwala Road, a presentation on applying Biblical concepts to real life will be the subject during a carol-singing session, followed by a midnight mass. “The presentation is about the message to Mother Mary, on her reaching out in service and the birth of Jesus Christ. It’s about understanding the underlying meanings of these concepts and applying them in our real life,” says parish priest Father Lui Heredia.
Around 4,000 people are expected to gather during Christmas Eve at the St Patrick’s Cathedral, near Pune Race Course. A crib and manger have been kept on the wonderfully bedecked cathedral premises. The celebrations, which include carol singing followed by a midnight mass, will be held at the St Patrick’s school grounds outside the cathedral on December 24, 2010 at 10.45 pm. On December 25, 2010, Christmas services will be held at the cathedral at 6.30 am, 7.30 am, 8.45 am and 10 am.
Meanwhile, St Anthony’s Church in Model Colony has opened its gates for children and invited them to decorate the Christmas tree on December 26. “Apart from getting kids to decorate the Christmas tree, we are also organizing a parish meet for parishioners across Pune on the evening of December 26,” said parish priest Father Edwin Joseph. Christmas Eve celebrations at the St Anthony’s Church on December 24 will end with a midnight mass.
Furthermore, St Teresa’s Church in Guruwar Peth is organizing a unique crib competition, where church members will visit every home to judge the best Christmas crib, and the winner will be finally announced on January 1, 2011. Christmas Eve services will be held at the church premises on December 24, 2010, from 9.30 pm onwards, whereas prayers will be held on December 25, 2010 at 8 am in English and at 9 am in Marathi.

I almost never comment, but i did a few searching and wound up here It is Christmas time in Pune. And I actually do have 2 questions for you if you tend not to mind. Is it just me or does it look like some of these comments appear like coming from brain dead visitors?
And, if you are posting at additional online social sites, I’d like to follow everything fresh you have to post. Would you make a list of the complete urls of all your communal sites like your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?

If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.
