After Tata, the Italian auto company, FIAT, which is known for high budget expensive luxurious cars, is working on the low-cost cars for the Indian consumers. The production work is going on in Fiat’s Rajangoan unit, which is few km’s away from Pune. So hold your breathe, and wait for the surprise!
The low-cost car will look like the models Santro, Indica, Alto or Cheverlet Spark. These cars will have the starting range from 4 lakh.
We are currently developing cars for various markets out which the low-budget car will be for India. Also the new variants of Grande Punto and Linea will soon be launched in the country
said Bonfiglioli, chief operating officer for the International Operations for Fiat, at the event of flagging off for ‘Fiat Diesel Drives India.’
Fiat India Automobiles Limited said that next year the company hopes to produce 1.65 lakh engines including 1.3 liter multi-jet engine and 1.2 and 1.4 litre ‘fire’ gasoline engine.
Our current installed capacity at the engine plant is 3, 20, 000 units per year. Next year we will scale this up>
