To prevent Thalasemia,the blood disorder stage where entire life depends upon blood transfusion from outside, SCREENING by HB-HPLC is must.
Ideally premarital age group, Newly married couples & ANC ladies should be top priority. But irrespective of age everyone should get screened by HB-HPLC once in life time to understand whether his/ her family memebers are/not carriers of this genetic Haemoglobinopathy.
