Karle Bhaje caves are located about 50 kms away from Pune, near Malavali off Pune-Mumbai highway. Karle and Bhaje caves are two diffeent caves situated close to each other.

Karle caves are good example of Satwhan art of Hinayana Sculpture. Karle caves has big chaitya gruh (prayer hall) and may vihars (cells). There is also temple of Ekavira Devi (goddess).

Bhaje has 18 caves. 12th cave is chatya gruh or prayer hall. Bhaje caves are well preserved. You can also Lohgad which is near to Bhaje caves.
