Osho Commune International is a Ashram located in Koregaon Park. Osho Commune International in Pune continues to be the center of attraction and curiosity for thousands of people all over the world. The city of Pune in Maharashtra boasts of a rich legacy of culture and history. Temples and spiritual centers in Pune will be a topic for a long thesis. But one thing is sure these temples and spiritual centers add to the grandeur and the glory of the city.

Osho Commune International which is also called as the Osho Ashram is the powerhouse for those who walk on the footsteps of Bhagwan Rajneesh also called Osho.
Where is it located?
Osho Commune International is spread over the wide area of 40 acres in Koregaon Park, around 12 km from the city of Pune. It was deliberately founded by Bhagwan Rajneesh away from the common din of city life. When you decide to tread the spiritual path, no mundane hurries and worries should shake you. This is the reason why the location of the Ashram outside the hustle and bustle of city becomes the plus point.
Bhagwan Rajneesh/ Osho:
In the beginning it is necessary to know a bit about Bhagwan Rajneesh. He was one of India’s widely popular export gurus of modern times. His flamboyant personality and revolutionary often controversial views on God, spirituality and sex always kept him in limelight. His personality mesmerized thousands of his followers all across the world. His sermons created a wave of uproar in the past and continue to do so even after his death.
Osho never advocated any particular religion, sect or dogma and always criticized the existing ones and hence became the target of criticism for many. His acerbic criticism of political leaders fetched him many enemies all around. His advocacy of sex as a means to attain enlightenment and spiritual tranquility created great upheaval in the Indian society and the Indian press sarcastically gave him an epithet “sex Guru”. His blend of Indian mysticism and Californian pop psychology was a novel experiment in the spiritual world.
The technique called Mystic Rose, one of his own founds, involves keeping three hours of your daily routine regularly for laughing for one week, for crying next week and then to become a watcher of the hill every day for three hours for a week. His inclination towards the Zen Buddhism was evident in his last days and went to such an extent that he called himself Buddha.
In 1987, Rajneesh came to the ashram at Koregaon Park in Pune and breathed his last here itself. Before coming to Pune he had earned a wide following on the international platform and all his disciples from the USA, Germany, Japan and Italy flocked to this ashram to attend Osho’s sermons and meditation courses. In his last days he observed complete silence which he had done even earlier when he was in the USA
The Osho Ashram is actually a kind of a Spiritual Health Club and has erected taking into consideration all Bhagwan’s teachings and principles. The place continues to pull the people from all over the world. If you are not an Osho follower, you will be amazed to see this kind of a set up in a spiritual center. You find here the facilities like a swimming pool, health spa, basketball and tennis courts, beauty parlor, book stalls and a beautiful Zen Garden also known as Osho Teerth occupying five hectors of land.
The spacious Buddha Hall used for dance and meditation and the Osho Samadhi are a few other places worth visiting.
Followers of Osho can join the Osho Commune International. Those who do so are given new names. Moreover they also get the titles like men are called ‘Swami’ whereas women are called ‘Ma’. As one joins the Commune (he/she is supposed to renounce everything (he/she owns including the family bonds. The Osho disciples wear white colored robes while attending sermons and maroon colored ones while meditating.
Timing for the Zen Garden in the Ashram:
06.00 AM to 09.00 AM and 04.00 P.M. to 07.00 P.M.
How to reach the Ashram?

Anthony Conaghan,
You cannot understand why you need to take an aids test in Pune? “It is a form of discrimination which is not my way of looking at Oshos teachings”
Go to Pune to meet your spiritual Master – and go deep into his presence (though his body may be dead). Then teachings disappear, AIDS tests disappear, understanding disappears, discussions disappear, discriminations disappear – just you remain, if ever.
Tell me what has happened, but hurry, I´m old and may die soon. Ma.Aryaman@gmx.de .
