Although culturally charged, the realm of adventure sports in Pune is picking up pace. With recreational activities and sports clubs set up by adventure aficionados themselves, you are guaranteed the real deal at every single turn. Pushing boundaries and exploring the outskirts of the city while being able to see Mother Nature from a completely new perspective, residents and travelers alike are welcome to live the ultimate experience and let go of all inhibitions.
They say ‘you should always try something atleast once’, so head down to one of the following Paragliding Schools and set yourself free!
If there is an adventure sport club or a recreational club you would like to have listed or reviewed on Pune Site, please contact us.
- Temple Pilots – Paragliding school run by Avi, the former Indian Air Force fighter pilot.
- Nirvana Adventure – Another paragliding school operating from Pune and Mumbai by Sanjaro Rao. Pendurkar teaches paragliding there.
- Wings & Flights – Wings and flight is one of the oldest paragliding school run by Eric Mendes. Mangesh Dighe is also an instructor there.
If you are living near Hadapsar area , then my suggestion would be to go to Wings & Flights as they are based in Hadapsar, Kondhwa, and camp as well. They provide training at Deer Hill (Near Hadapsar).
If you are living in near by areas of Aundh, Pimpri, Chinchwad, Hinjewadi, Baner, then my suggestion would be to go for paragliding training at Temple Pilots or Nirvana Adventures.
More more details on paragliding, please read Karamveer’s site at paragliding India.

Hi ,
we were looking for a corporate day out and thought of paragliding. I don’t know if any of the employees are experienced, and we are not looking for a course – just 1 session. Please let me know if this possible. Many thanks & regards, shelina

Hi Shelina,
if you like to go out with a group for one day, the best would be to go for a tandem flight, where you fly with a pilot, so no paragliding skills are necessary, but still you get an experience you might not forget.
The formerly main instructor of Nirvana has its own school now. So you might want to check out Indus Paragliding in Kamshet near Pune (www.indusparagliding.in), Sanjay Pendurkar has lots of experience in paragliding and tandem flights.
Have fun

Once more Hello to all interested in Adventure Sports!
I know you might not have the time, but consider visiting the paragliding places first, before you book your tandem flights.
See what is happening there and have an open eye for safety issues also. Do the pilots offer you a protected harness, do they take off in rough conditions, do they look like, they are in control of what they are doing?
There are many people in Adventure Sports and some try to do it as safe as possible, and some try to earn as much money as possible.
Keep an eye open
Stefan

With the websites given before, you should not have problems, finding a place, where you can paraglide, that will not happen in Pune, since paragliding is more out in the WILD.
Flying is more about getting your backside out into nature and doing things by yourself, that includes, reading websites and talking to people before. By the way, keep nature clean and take your bottles and papers back home.
If you want to expand the topic of paragliding here, you might rather check
“www.paraglidingforum.in”, they do it there already.
Some nice flying is happening from Himachal to Sikkim through Nepal just now.
Check http://www.himalayanodyssey.org, if you like to know, what you might be capable of in a few years.
If I was a little rude in between, forgive me, but paragliding is not for mummies boy, it is only for real men AND women.
So long
Stefan
