Suhas Bokil got entry in Limca Book of records with his collection of around 160 books, 500 editorials and 3,000 news clippings written by Acharya Atre a prominent writer, political leader, poet and orator. He has held more than 30 exhibitions in India and abroad of these items.
64 year old Bokil played a role of small boy in his childhood in the play ‘Ghara Baher’, in 1955. He brought his first book from Acharya Atre in 1960 at the age of 15. He started to read articles and books of Atre that hooked him onto Atrey’s mastery on the language.
Bokil first organized his exhibition in Kolhapur and since then he held more than 30 exhibitions. 11 of them were held in Pune and one in San Jose in London. While the exhibition held in San Jose in 1999 was a part of the Brihan Maharashtra Mandal Convention. There was another such meet in 2007 by the Maharshtra Mandal.
Bokil had got a chance in 1969 to meet the writer who discussed for an hour regarding to his publishing. According to Bokil there are number of people who are great fan of Atre’s work. Bokil expects more exhibitions in future that help youngsters to learn more about Acharya Atre.
