Rajiv Gandhi slum is under pressure these days, because of the murder of 32 year old son of a former PMC corp orator. The murder occured in the public toilet by six men on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Ganesh Bhagwat Kamble (32) of Rajiv Gandhi Vasahat on Sinhgad road by Dattawadi police. Laxmibai kamble, mother of the decease was a corpora tor from 1992 to 1997.
Angry followers of the decease threw stones at vehicles passing through the area and set the office of the suspect on fire. A large number of police officials were called to the spot to bring the situation under control.
Police have booked suspects including his brother Laxman, Ram Jagdale, Shankar Bhalerao, Amol Kale, Mukund Gaikwad and Bhimya Jadhav. The police has started a hunt for them. Mahesh Kamble elder brother of the decease has lodged a complaint with the Dattawadi police station.
According to Mahesh Kamble, his brother Ganesh was a social worker. He added that on Tuesday morning Ganesh woke up around 10 and went to the public toilet near the private hospital in that area. He said that after some time he also went for toilet and saw that six men with sharp weapons are attacking his brother. He said that the suspects ran away from the spot when he tried to reach them.
Ganesh had received major blows on the head that he was rushed to the nearby hospital and after then to Sasson hospital, where he was declared dead.
According to the statement of Mahesh kamble given to Dattawadi police station, Ram and jagdale had old enmity.
