Yugpath and Art India Foundation together are conducting a workshop on how to sculpt Ganesh idols using Shdu Clay. With the Ganesh Festival just round the corner, the workshop is quite pertinent. Dance India Dance L’il Masters: Grand Finale: Saturday, 07 August, 2010. Time: 8pm onwards.

For more than three months Indian young talent has been dancing on the floor for on e title: Dance ka Baap! The hardworking children are now feeling the heat of the Grand Finale. The extravaganza is to be held at Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune on coming Saturday. Vaishnavi Patil from Pune, Atul from Mani Majra, Manoj from Mumbai and Jeetumoni from Guwahati are the four finalists competing for the title. Bollywood Babe Soanm Kapoor with her papa Anil Kapoor will grace the grand finale. They are also going to promote their upcoming release “Aisha” on this occasion.

Hum Do Kishore Bhakt: 04 August,2010 Time: 09.30 pm onwards

Singers Jitendra Bhuruk and Makarand Patankar have put up a music show “Hum Do Kishore Bhakt”. The occasion is the 81st birth anniversary of the legendary playback singer Kishore Kumar. The duo will present Kishoreda’s famous melodies in the show. Famous trumpet, saxophone and key-flute players Kishore Sodha and Suresh Yadav, too, will be performing on stage.

After years of musically experimenting and collaborating with musicians across the spectrum, DJ Kliment emerges as a solo project. This Bulgarian performer is on the perpetual quest for searching for and sending out deep messages through music, irrespective of its style and form.

Kingfisher Ultra Presents Talamasca: July 18, 2010. Time: 9pm onwards

One of the most requested live acts, Talamasce is a solo project from Cedric Dassulle. He is a French DJ who began playing psytrance in France in 1992. He is the most sought after DJ in the biggest festivals like full-moon, Samothraki, Eclipse, Boom and Chemical Sound amongst many more.

Talamasca is also known as DJ Lestat.

Coming together for their love of Reggae music in early 2009, the Rajahs started playing at venues across their hometown of New Delhi. Their shows have often included performances by upcoming musicians such as Delhi Sultanate, Mandeep Sethi, MC AX, MC Vivan and the Ska Vengers. Reggae Rajahs are a collective of Selektahs, DeeJays and Promoters who are spreading the message of love, peace and unity through the original Jamaican Sounds of Roots Reggae, Ska , Dub, Lovers Rock and Dancehall.

The International Association for Human Values (IAHV), with active support from United National Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is organizing a series of conferences across 190 countries. The objective of the series is to harness the potential of Information and Communication Technology in education and to come up with a strategic plan to revolutionize the field of education worldwide. Facilitated by Bangalore’s impeccable Dr. Shoiba Saldanha, the objective of this workshop is to help participants understand the vast dimensions of gender and sexuality and to help them explore what their sexuality means to them. It will help them with self-awareness and self-expression, be it in their family, in their marriage/relationship, work place or within themselves as individuals. It will also help participants understand how to talk about sexuality with children and teenagers as well as how to spot and prevent child sexual abuse. An intense, interactive course in the subject, this workshop hopes to make it more personal and interpersonal than clinical with an impact of being more real than intellectual.

Nasty Peach comes to Hard Rock Café: Time: 9pm onwards

Funk and Groove at its best, Nasty Peaches is a nine piece band from Tel Aviv, Israel. After touring the local scene for the past year, with more then 6 shows per month and several local tours around the country, the band is looking for new places around the globe to land their groove on.

Currently, the band is working with world known music producer Patrick Sebag (Laya Project, Kartick & Gotam – Business Class Refugees, and Peter Gabriel remixer) on a full length 12 song album due to be released by June 2010 and which will be a part of the upcoming 2010 Asian tour.

Parachute XVI at High Spirits: 23rd June, 2010. Time: 9.00pm onwards

This Wednesday, Bangalore based alternative rock band, Parachute XVI will be performing at High Spirits. Embedded in the blues, guitarist Ananth Menon is a guitar maniac and effortlessly straddling the two worlds of groove and technique with a feel tempered by years of playing his fingers to the bone for various blues, and rock bands. Bassist Ganesh Krishnaswamy has been intensely involved with metal for a long time, but has always nursed an open approach to the seven notes that make his world tick. Married to an inherent sense of rhythm, his unfettered freedom to create and frolic in his universe of sound makes him unique. Coming from a strong progressive and experimental background, former His Girl Friday and Fangle Dangle & the Skoogle Skangle (Glasgow) drummer, and most recent addition to the band, Gurudarshan Somayaji brings his variety of insanity into the band.

Hrishikesh’s ‘Centre of Contemporary Dance’ organizes a workshop on ‘ Women & Fitness’. The aim of this workshop is to provide ample opportunity to women of all ages. Art Experience is designed and tailored as an enquiry based learning programme. The programme incorporates theory and extensive practical exercises to maintain a fine balance between skill, technique and self-expression to create and preserve creativity within you.

Participants will be introduced to basic concepts of form, line, composition and colour through various modules including painting, observation, drawing and collage making. The programme is supported by lec-dems. Art Experience will introduce innovative and creative approaches to discover your potential. The programme equips you with creative learning environment, which nurtures individual talent.
